How to set up and run a predictions league
Two minutes to set up. After that the site locks each match at kickoff, scores the results and keeps the table.
Create the league
- Go to Leagues and press Create a league.
- Name it and choose the competition. Set a start gameweek if you're starting mid-season.
- Choose who can join: private with an invite link and code, public so anyone can find it, or organiser-only where you add every member yourself.
- Set the scoring, or keep the defaults. Each setting is explained below.
The settings, explained
- Start gameweek - Only gameweeks from here on count towards the table. Use it to start a league mid-season - earlier results are ignored.
- Points: exact score - Points for nailing the exact scoreline (e.g. you said 2-1 and it finished 2-1).
- Points: correct result - Points for getting the result right but not the exact score (right team to win, or a draw).
- Missed predictions score as - If a member forgets to predict a finished match, score them as if they'd predicted this. The site default is 0-0, so a missed round still picks up result points for draws. 'Off' is the strict rule: a miss scores zero.
Invite people
- Press Invite on the league page to copy the link or the code, or share it straight to WhatsApp.
- Members need a free account. The link takes them through sign-up and into the league.
- You can also add people by username from the Members tab.
Week to week
- Nothing to do. Matches lock at kickoff, results are scored as they finish, and the table updates.
- The WhatsApp summary button writes up the gameweek for the group chat.
- Reminders go to members who haven't predicted as kickoffs approach.
Prizes, tiebreakers and disputes
