How to take part in a Last Man Standing pool

One pick a week. Back a team to win; if they do, you're through to next week. Draw or lose and you're out. You can't pick the same team twice. The last player standing takes the pool.

Join the pool

Get the invite link or code from whoever runs the pool. Public pools are also listed on the Last Man Standing page for anyone to join.
Create a free account if you don't have one. It takes about 30 seconds.
Open the link, or paste the code into Join with a code on the Last Man Standing page.
If the pool's organiser enters players themselves (usually pools with an entry fee), you'll see not entered yet until they've entered you. Sort the fee out with them and you'll be in.

Make your pick each week

Open the pool and press Make a pick. You'll see the round's fixtures and the teams you can still use.
Pick one team to win. Every pick in the pool locks at the first kickoff of the round, so choose before then. You can change your mind up to that moment.
Once you've used a team you can't pick them again in this series, unless the pool allows reuse. The greyed-out teams are the ones you've spent.
Forget to pick and you're out (or lose a life, if the pool plays with more than one). Some pools give you a team automatically the first time you miss. Turn on reminders in Notifications so it doesn't happen.

Win, draw, lose

Your team wins - you're through to next week.
Draw or loss - you're out. In a pool with lives you lose a life instead, and go out when they're gone.
Match postponed or called off - your pick is void: you're through, and in most pools the team goes back into your list.
Nobody's pick is visible until the round locks. After that the pick history shows who backed whom.

When you're out

You stay in the pool and can follow every round, the pick history and who's left. The organiser can reinstate you if your pool allows buy-backs. And if everyone still in goes out in the same week, the pool may restart with everyone back in - see below.

Wipeouts and new series

If everyone still in loses in the same week, the pool's rule decides what happens: everyone comes back in and the pool starts again next week (the default), only those players carry on, or they share the pot. A restart begins a new series: a clean slate, used teams cleared, and the earlier series kept on record in the pick history.

After a winner, the organiser can start the next series with the same group. In a pool where the organiser enters players, you may need to be entered again for each series.

Winning

The last player standing wins. Some pools end when a set number remain and share it.
Some pools let the final few vote to split the pot early rather than play on.
If the season ends with players still standing, they share.
